Hasta Nakshatra
Hasta means hand and it is symbolized by an open
hand, giving blessings from the above. It is also symbolized by a fist,
signifying strength and determination. Its ruling deity is Savitar, the jovial
Sun God of creative energy. Therefore, this is an auspicious time to start
anything or try something new: start a routine for your health; try a new hobby
using your hands; start a garden or plant seeds; start construction or buy a
new home; buy or wear new jewelry or clothes; move to a new place; go on a journey
etc. Hasta’s secondary meaning is Laughter, so any kind of light hearted and
fun activities are recommended: go watch a comedy show; play games with your
kids; go out in the sun and have fun etc. In addition to its creative aspect,
Hasta is ruled by the Moon and lies over Virgo, ruled by Mercury. Mercury is
exalted in this Nakshatra and this combination gives it a focus on intelligence
and mental activity: start learning something new such as a foreign language,
psychology, palmistry, healing or Vedic astrology; go to a self improvement
seminar; practice yoga and meditation etc. It is a great time to use your
intelligence and deal with business: set up a business or open a business; buy
or sell goods; try to get a good deal on products or property etc. It is a
great time to get in touch with a person of power and ask for their “Hand”.
Footnote
Savitar, the solar god mentioned here is described as the early rays of the Sun. It is also in the Gayatri Mantra, which gives us enthusiasm in our spiritual life. Most people associate the Sun with truth, justice and enlightenment. On the other hand, Savitar is often depicted as a light hearted, fun loving trickster. You can see there are 2 sides to the Sun. Interestingly enough, the symbolism also has its 2 sides. An open hand can give or receive benedictions, charity, and help if one is ready. However, it could be also a clenched fist, which suggests that you can either ask for help or take what you deserve.

Sacred Energy Remedy : KOMAL SRI KIRUPA
KOOBARESWARAR
The sacred energy
vortex that resonates with the star Hasta is located in Komal near Kumbakonam
in Tamil Nadu, India. People born under Hasta should visit this temple at least
once during their lifetime.
Those who visit the
temple at Komal and worship Sri Kirupa Koobareswarar (an aspect of Lord Shiva)
and Goddess Sri Annapoorani will receive the blessings of divine grace and
compassion. People born under Hasta star should worship this form of Shiva with
folded hands in prayer, meditation and yoga. It is also recommended for these
people to perform the ancestor ritual known as tarpanam. While making the tarpanam
offering, water passing over the lines of the person’s hands connects their
energy with the energy of the ancestors.
The connection of this
temple to Hasta star begins with the story of Goddess Parvati, who wanted to
understand exactly what Lord Shiva experienced as the ruler of the Universe.
Shiva participated in Divine sport, so Parvati decided she too would take part
in Divine sport to gain the knowledge of Shiva. Parvati playfully covered Lord
Shiva’s eyes with her hands, but this simple action caused the entire universe
to become incapacitated. She had stopped the flow of water, the movements of
planets and everything in the universe became still. Overcome with guilt,
Parvati asked Lord Shiva for his forgiveness.
Shiva explained to
Parvati that due to her actions, he would disappear into the light known as
"Hastayama Jyoti" created by his own hands. Parvati would then
incarnate as a cow wondering around the world in search of Shiva until she
reunited with him in the form of "Hastayama Jyoti." Parvati was quite
distressed about the situation, but followed Shiva’s orders and wandered the
earth as a cow, searching for Lord Shiva’s light. Finally, on Hasta star day,
Lord Shiva revealed his light to Parvati and bestowed darshan as Sri Kirupa
Koobareswarar.
Those born under Hasta
can offer foods that require the use of one’s hands during preparation to the
poor. Making sweet or savory cakes by hand, is a good example of such an
offering. This will help assist those who are poor to acquire wealth. It is also
recommended that people who are suffering from depression visit the temple at
Komal. To make an offering on Pradosham days, Mondays and Wednesdays is a
powerful remedy for depression. Finally, those who have marital troubles can
walk around this temple from left to right as a remedy for any challenges with
marriage
