enemy planets in astrology and what is the reason?
1. Jupiter and Venus are enemies.
Brihaspati (Jupiter) is Devaguru I.e the teacher of Devas and
Sukracharya (Venus) is Asuraguru I.e the teacher of Asuras. Since, Devas and
Asuras can't stand with each other; it's obvious their teachers too are anti of
each other.
2. Sun and Saturn are enemies.
Suryadeva (Sun) had one wife Sandhya. But since Sun is hot in nature,
Sandhya was afraid to go near him. So Sandhya created her shadow (Chhaya) and
send her to Surya. With Chhaya, Surya had one son Shani (Saturn), but since the
child was very dark in complexion; Surya refused to accept him as his son. So
yes, technically they are father-son; and the hatred of Saturn for Sun in this
case is justified.
3. Mars and Saturn are enemies.
Shani’s wife Damini had Mangala (Mars) dosha, which resulted her having
higher sexual drive, on the other hand Shani (Saturn) is known for his
discipline so he didn't cared about his wife and was busy in meditation of Lord
Shiva. Damini felt insulted and she cursed her own husband. Saturn knew that it
was the effect of Mars on his wife, thus he hated Mars after this incident.
4. Moon and Mercury are enemies.
It is believed that Brihaspati's wife Tara was fascinated by Chandra's
(Moon) beauty, so much that they eventually started an affair. Out of this
affair, Buddh (Mercury) was born. Though Moon and Jupiter doesn't hate each
other, but Mercury couldn't accepted the fact that he was an illegitimate
child, thus he hated his father Moon. This is the reason, Saturn and Mercury
are best friends, because they both hate their fathers. Also, though Jupiter
loves Mercury for his intelligence but Mercury doesn't really likes Jupiter and
that's why he is debilitated in Pisces.
5. Rahu/Ketu and Moon/Sun are enemies.
During the Samudra Manthana, when the nectar came out of the ocean;
Asuras were fighting to get it over Devas. Thus, Lord Vishnu took the form of
Mohini and tricked them to let Devas have it before them. But there was one
Asura, who doubted it and he changed his getup as a Deva and was in the line to
get the nectar. Just when the nectar was going through his throat Chandra
(Moon) and Surya (Sun) shouted that it was actually a Asura. Lord Vishnu
immediately cut his head with his Sudarshana Chakra, but since the nectar was
going through his throat, he didn't died but his body was separated from his
head. The Trinity, didn't had any other option rather than making him and his
body as shadow planets, thus Rahu and Ketu were created. Vishnu also granted
Rahu the boon of swallowing Sun and Moon once in every year. It is believe that
Solar and Lunar eclipse happens because of this, but since Rahu doesn't have
any body, it doesn't lasts forever.
