12th house is also the house of spirituality, where you let go of materialism to gain access to the unknown dimensions of the self. Lagna lord sun, mercury and karma karaka Saturn in 12th house (sagittarius - the house of guru) shows a lot of emphasis on spirituality in this life. 12th house also has to do with foreign things. Saturn is karaka for profession. So, your work will give you traveling. . According to Gauri Jataka (as told by goddess Parvati to the sages), 12th house is also spiritual house and planet like ketu or Jupiter will lead him into spiritual path . while Rahu in 2nd, gives you immense desire to know what's in the sacred scriptures and traditions but in this case you end up reading religious books all the time but may not be a spiritual person !!. Whereas Ketu in the 12th house will lead you to become a true spritual person ( there is a difference between reading books on spritual matter like Rahu in 2nd house and really being spritual like ketu in 12 th house
12 th house commonly referred to as the “dusthana house.[ planets are considered weak if they reside in Dusthana]
I do not believe that any house can be bad in totality .Even for that matter 6th, 8th & 12th are treated as Dustanas in Astrology but looking at the astrological chart now in 21st century will give it entirely new meaning
For example any so called bad planet like Rahu/Mars if in 12th house was in auspious in olden days say 100 years back as it prompted the person to go away from home land to a foreign country and was referred as desha brasta which was considered bad
But nowadays if Rahu / Mars is placed in 12th house it is advantage as it helps the person to settle outside the country !!
So To settle down in foreign country of different culture, 12th should support the Native.
A strong 12th house makes you very spiritual - especially if Ketu resides there, you may attain Moksha and liberation from the cycle of life. If a strong Guru is placed here-you may become a spiritual leader in foreign lands like osho Rajneesh
